The Federal Highway Administration product acceptance is not an approval of a product, but only a public service which indicates that in the FHWA's opinion, the product meets the industry standards. In some cases the FHWA has accepted products that have ot been physically tested. Only physical testing can prove that a product is truly crashworthy. Do not expose yourself to unnecessary liability without knowing if the product you are using is actually proven crashworthy.
